Remote Quit Working On 722 Dish Network Receiver.

I took the receiver off line to move it to another TV.  I changed the output source from RCA to HDMI. Turned the unit on and the remote now will not work. I have another identical remote on another 722 receiver and I tried using it and it won't work either.  The receiver works fine when changing channels at the receiver but it will not accept changes from the remote.  Talked to Dish Network tech and he is sending a new remote even though I know it is not the remote.  Like talking to a wall with this guy.  What would make the receiver quit working with the remote.  It was off line for about 40 minutes. Thanks!

To Kimberly Escobar, We used the same remote that was working with the receiver just 40 minutes earlier.  When we got the Dish Network tech on line that is what he had us do. We set the address on not only the original remote but also another remote that we have in the other room on an identical receiver.  They both are IR remotes with #1.  The problem is with the receiver. I thought maybe there was a reset or something on the receiver that might start excepting the remote signal again. I've had Dish for a long time and through the years have changed remotes and set them.  I am very familiar with how to set the remote to the receiver but this time it just won't work. The tech insisted that he send us a new remote even after trying the two we had. I know the remotes are good because they both work on the other identical receiver. I think we are going to need another receiver.

Thanks for replying! if the technical support agent created a shipment for a new replacement remote most likely you should be getting it by wednesday. Since the shipment has been created we need to wait for the remote to arrive to your home I would advice you to try and programm your new remote if that doesnt work then most likely we would look into replacing your receiver box. If you would like for me to assist you with that, you are more than welcome to email me directly your account information and as well when you receiver your new remote as an advanced technical support agent I can help with trying one more time to get it going. Let me know if you need anything.

Hello there! this is Kimberly Escobar with DISH Network customer support. Just ran across your post and wanted to apologize if you didnt get the help you were looking for when calling in. I would like to help and further look into this for you. By reading through your post I understand you moved the receiver to work with a different TV, you are no longer using RCA cables, and now remote is no longer working. One of the things we can try as far as getting the issue resolved would be addressing remote to receiver you can find all the steps on our web page at http://www.dishnetwork.com/SupportSection/remote-control Here you would find step by step how to address your remote to your receiver. Another important thing would be the model of your remote. You can find this located on the back of your remote is usually a two digit number for example 6.0, is possible it can also be three digits like 20.0 or 21.0. If you are having the issue at TV1 (in the room receiver is in) make sure your remote has a green one at the bottom. If you need any additional help please feel free to contact me directly at [email protected] I would love to help.

there is nothing wrong with your remote. it works fine. your receiver, when using hdtv cant interpret the ir signal and requires a uhf remote for hdmi hdtv. get a 21.0 remote to use hdmi or just keep the rca's. personally i didnt notice a difference on my 42'' lg lcd . maybe u will on a led or plasma. personally im gonna wait for my new free 21.0 remote then leave my $3 rcas  picture is just as good.  but in closing  your remote is fine  change back to rcas and youll see....dont forget to make sure its programmed to the correct address before you call me a liar :P gl all
