Low Hours Dirt Devil Ud20124 Won't Run.

I bought it 18 months ago so it is no longer in warranty. It has low hours usage. I estimate 20 hours. I put it away in good working order. The next time I tried to use it the motor would not start. Very disappointed. Should last much longer.

How to fix a dirt devil vacuum cleaner?

problem1 :

The vacuum won't run

possible cause:

1. Power cord not firmly plugged into the outlet.

2. No voltage within the wall plug.

3. Blown fuse or tripped breaker.

4. Thermal Protector activated.

possible solution :

1. Plug unit in firmly.

2. Check fuse or breaker in residence.

3. Replace fuse/reset breaker in residence

4. Unplug and permit the vacuum to cool for 30min. (This will reset the thermal protector).

Problem2:

The cleaner won't pick up or have low suction.

possible cause:

1. Dirt container was not put inappropriately.

2. Dirt container full. 3. Brushroll just isn't on.

4. Dirty/clogged filter.

There are a few things that could be causing your Dirt Devil UD20124 to not start.

The power cord could be damaged. Check the power cord for any cuts or frays. If the power cord is damaged, it will need to be replaced.

The motor could be defective. If the motor is defective, it will need to be repaired or replaced.

The brushes could be clogged. The brushes on the vacuum cleaner help to create suction. If the brushes are clogged, the vacuum cleaner will not be able to start.

The filter could be clogged. The filter helps to trap dirt and debris. If the filter is clogged, the vacuum cleaner will not be able to start.

You can try to troubleshoot the problem yourself by checking the power cord, the motor, the brushes, and the filter. If you are unable to fix the problem, you will need to take the vacuum cleaner to a qualified repair technician.

It is possible that the vacuum cleaner is defective, even though it is only 18 months old. If this is the case, you may be able to get a refund or replacement from the manufacturer.

Here are some tips for extending the lifespan of your vacuum cleaner:

Clean the vacuum cleaner regularly.

Replace the filters regularly.

Inspect the power cord and brushes for damage regularly.

Do not overload the vacuum cleaner.

Store the vacuum cleaner in a cool, dry place.

I hope this helps!
