Dewalt Stand Will Not Lower
my stand had the 779 miter saw and it has been working well. All of a sudden it stopped lowering. The stand is now stuck in the up and locked position. It feels like it wants to lower but something is blocking it. Other reviews have indicated the release cable could be too loose but I can not figure out how to tighten it. Any help with pictures would be appreciated

That answer was just a quote from the instructions, and didn't address the question. I got the Dewalt DWX726 stand yesterday and have the same issue. It won't lower. I lift up to take pressure off, press the lever and it releases the cammed pawls. The steel bracket is pulled down about 3/8 inch. The steel tongue slides out a little past the large hole in it.then it catches and the pawls catch while the bracket moves back up on the yellow square shaft. Even manually pulling on the cable to pull the bracket out again won't release the stand. There doesn't seem to be a bow in the tongue or the yellow shaft around the tongue. When in a raised position, the two springs seen to be way too loose (had to reconnect them one time). Any solutions besides returning to Home Depot? Dewalt support gave no support...

TO RAISE AND LOWER THE STAND (FIG. A, M, O) WARNING: PINCH AND IMPACT HAZARD. The spring loaded mechanism is under tension and can open unexpectedly, with high force. 1. Turn the stand right side up on the floor. IMPORTANT: Stand must be right side up when cutting white cable ties. 2. While holding down on the top of the stand frame, use wire cutting pliers to cut the white cable ties. IMPORTANT: DO NOT cut the black cable ties securing the cables that open the stand. 3. Place one foot on the bottom of the leg extension 4 . Hold the handle down Fig. O 4 12 8 with one hand, push the red activating lever 12 to disengage the latching mechanism. 4. Lift the handle 8 with both hands. The stand has three positions: closed, fully extended and intermediate To Reach the Intermediate Position: Lift up on the handle and slowly raise the stand. The stand will stop at the intermediate position. Release the lever
