The Hot Wire On My Drill Broke. How Do I Fix It?

The hot (black) wire on my drill broke at the rubber sleeve going into the grip. After butt splicing the wire, having opened the drill to be able to, I found a blue wire attached to the trigger hanging loose with no obvious place to plug it in. Where dose it go? I haven't come up with an adequate wiring schematic on line
