My Dell Se198wfpv Screen Goes Black Within One Second After Turning It On.

My understanding from the service web sites indicates the LED back light is probably reaching end of life and drawing too much current from the inverter, thus causing it to shut down. I had the same problem on my 15-year old Dell 2001fp, but I swapped it for my old IBM monitor because it fits the small space needed (only 19 inches wide - roll top desk placement, suspended drawers, not enough room for modern monitors, etc.).

Service sites suggested selling the used monitor for parts (if it is the LED back light assembly going bad). Planning to do a current test on the monitor power supply block (20vdc @ 4.5 amps max) to see if the power supply block is dying. If not, service web sites say no one wants to change an LED assembly because it's complicated and expensive - ie. cheaper to replace the whole monitor (unless I luck out and can fix it for less than a new one).

Kinda like rebuilding the blown engine in my '86 Olds LSS when it had over 168k miles on it and was gonna cost more than the car is worth to fix it. Bought a used 2017Ford Focus from Hertz and called it a day.
