Hi buceddie0,

The Latitude E6430 should have shipped with a High-Definition or HD LCD. These displays are the latest generation of displays to start shipping on Dell notebooks and have different resolutions and different designations than standard notebook displays. The aspect ratio changes from 16:10 to 16:9.

All HD displays are LED-backlit, there are no CCFL-backlit HD displays. This means there are no inverters or converters used in HD displays.

For CCFL-Backlit displays the LCD power inverter would be located behind the LCD panel usually above the hinges. Thanks,

Shawn B
