My Dell Inspiron N5110 Doesn't Working Without Ac Plugged In.

My Dell inspiron n5110 doesn't working without AC plugged in. If I disconnect the AC adapter the laptop goes off! I tested the battery & charger adapter on another laptop and they are absolutely okay. ...also tried another battery on my laptop but it did not work. from yesterday...mouse over battery notification showing .... "60% available (plugged in not charging)" . Please help me out!!!!

what happend is that your battery has developed a momory this happens when you charge the battery a lot over time without letting the battery go completely drained, it says 60% but thats where the memory has been set.

You may perform the below mentioned steps to isolate the issue:

1. Remove the power cable and the battery. Hold the power button down for 15-20 seconds and then put the battery and the adapter back in and start the computer. Check if it works.

2. Please check the jack on the AC Adapter for any damage.
Have you tried with a good known AC Adapter?

3. Look for a green light on the A/C adapter or a blue light on the connector that connects to the computer after you plug it on to the system.

4. Please update latest version of system BIOS from the link mentioned below. please select correct operating system before you start installation. Also, make sure that AC Adaptor is plugged in and battery is more than 10% charge.
