Hi,

For me to help you in a better manner, I need a few details from you:

  1. Are you able to hear sound from the speaker when you play a video in media player?
  2. Are you facing issue only with particular software or all the software like (Skype, yahoo messenger)?
  3. Have you tried a different headphone?

Please run Windows Audio Playback Diagnose and Repair from the below MS FIX-IT

http://bit.ly/JvQScV

Please try with a different headphone and also test the headphone on a different computer to check the functionality.

If the above mentioned steps don’t resolve the issue, update the Audio drivers by clicking on the link below:

http://dell.to/uIo3ef

Enter the Service Tag, select the Operating System you are using and then download the latest Audio driver.

Please reply if you have any further questions.

Thanks & Regards
Rathish C
