The two most likely causes are a dead battery (meaning it will no longer take a charge) or a broken AC adapter. If you know how to use a multimeter, you can test the AC adapter to make sure it's working. If the AC adapter is working fine then you'll need to purchase a new battery; they're available from the Dell website here.
