Fix
Delonghi ESAM 6700 - when I press "milk" or select hot water it says "please wait" but returns to menu. Only the descale function works through the coupling carafe.my machine makes coffee no problem. However when I try to use the milk function it just says please wait but does nothing and returns to main screen. There are no noises so it doesn't even attempt anything. If I try it without the milk jug it first says insert milk jug - which I then do and it says please wait but does nothing. Same goes for the hot water function with or without the hot water nossle connected. So it knows the jug or the hot water nossle are connected. Also pressing the clean button on milk jug does nothing. Interestingly the descale function works fine with the hot water nossle attached. ive checked for blockages in the tube going from the first solonoid to the coupling carafe but it's all ok. Any ideas?

The intake tube is not inserted or is inserted incorrectly.
Insert the intake tube in the rubber washer in the milk container lid.
