I Believe There Is A Serious Mistake In The Indian Spiced Rice Pudding Recipe.
Page 28. I made this yesterday. Thank goodness I stayed home the whole time. The liquid bubbled out of the top and made a huge mess on the counter. It would have overflowed onto the floor. There was a lot of liquid overflowing. I wondered about using 2 cups of rice to get 8 cups of pudding. I think there is either not enough rice in the recipe list or too much liquid. Please advise.
I was making it for dessert for lunch for a group of my friends to show off my new cuisinart slow cooker. Oh boy. What a disaster! I ended up opening it up and removing about 1.5 cups of liquid. One of my friends had turned it off to be helpful so I turned it back on again. It was edible but they were underwhelmed by the slow cooker.
And another question. The ingredients call for condensed milk. Is that sweetened condensed milk? I couldn't find unsweetened condensed milk so I used sweetened condensed milk. I could have used unsweetened evaporated milk also but was unsure about the substitution. Please advise.

2. Condensed milk is always sweetened.
