To change the chute cables on a Cub Cadet 1X 221 LHP, you will need to remove the top of the mower. To do this, remove the four bolts on the top of the mower with a socket wrench. Once these are removed, you can either lift or tip the mower and remove it from its base. Then, locate and disconnect the cable from the lever that is mounted to the frame of your tractor.
