You're probably confusing us with Craigslist. We don't give you alerts. We're an independent help site not connected with Craigslist.

If I knew what alerts you want to stop I would be able to give you specific advice. For now:

If the alerts are emails you can filter them out either with your ISP or with your email program. (Ask your ISP if you don't know how.)

To block popups, consider the suggestions at http://netforbeginners.about.com/od/lockdownyourpc/ss/blockingpopups.htm. A very good free product is Adblock Plus together with its Element Hiding Helper.
