Why Do I Have To Give My Phone Number To Post An Ad On Craigslist??

i want to place an ad on craigslist an when all done the email said i have to give my phone number to post and get a code to finish the posting? i never have had to give my phone number why now??

You do not have to provide a phone number to post an ad -- only to set up a new account. You do not need an account.

To post an ad without an account, find the prominent "post to classifieds" link (it's at the upper-left corner of the main page), drill down to the appropriate category, and fill out the simple form.
