My Favorites Have Disappeared And The Favorites Star Icon Is Unavailable.

When I conduct a new search or "refresh" a bookmarked search, the favorites star icon appears in each listing momentarily but then disappears immediately (within a second or two). This problem just started about a week ago (20+ favorites went to zero) and I did a system restore on my PC to before the problem started but it did not fix the problem. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Favorites lists are stored on your computer as a temporary internet file. If you delete it, or your system deletes it, your favorites will be lost. Favorites lists reside with the browser used to create it. If you use a different computer, or different browser on the same computer, you won't see them.
