Hope this helps...
The Craftsman 74545 is an electric string trimmer used to remove overgrown grass and weeds from your yard. Unlike a gas trimmer, the 74545 plugs into a wall outlet and requires a constant power source to operate. The trimmer has two strings that, when the trimmer rotates, cut the overgrown grass. As the string makes contact with solid objects, such as rocks and tree stumps, the string will break down and eventually break. The 74545 has two spools that house extra string that is dispensed when the string breaks. After the spools are empty, you must rewind them to resume using the trimmer.
Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions:
Things You'll Need:
- 0.065-inch trimmer cutting line
- Scissors
- Unplug the trimmer from the wall outlet and turn the trimmer over to access the head.
- Press the two tabs on the side of the spool head cover. Lift the spool head cover up and off the spool.
- Lift the spool off the trimmer head.
- Remove any string remaining on either spool. Discard the remaining string.
- Insert approximately 3/4 inch of one end of one of the strings into the anchor on one of the spools.
- Wind the string around the spool in the direction of the arrow on the spool. Wind the string in neat rows, only overlapping when an entire row is full.
- Insert the string through the eyelet on the spool on the last pass.
- Wind the string on the other spool following the same procedure.
- Cut both strings so that only 6 inches of string are out of the spool.
- Place the spool back onto the trimmer head and then replace the spool head cover. To secure the spool head cover, push it down until the tabs lock into place.
