Nothing Appears On Screen When Computer Is Turned On

WHEN I TURN THE COMPUTER ON, THEE FAN TURNS ON AND THE HARDDRIVE LIGHT ONLY BLINKS A COUPLE OF TIMES, BUT NOTHING APPEARS ON THE SCREEN, ANY SUGGESTIONS?
