Is A Compaq Cq2000 Wi-fi Enabled ?

I have a Compaq CQ2000 about 3 years old. My Netopia router is connected by Ethernet plus broadband line and split phone connection. all the router lights including "Wireless" show up, but when I try to connect my Vodafone smart phone to the wireless signal, the word Connecting.... comes up but no connection occurs.Can you please help me.
