my compaq 420  laptop sound   not  hear   how to  solve this  problem

Possibly the sound driver is corrupt. Without specifics it is difficult to give a solution. However this is a link to HP for your laptop. There is troubleshooting and drivers available. I suggest re-installing the sound driver unless it it is proved to be a set-up issue.
