Before I answer your question, here's a brief background of what the SECURITY message means in the Impala. Your Impala is equipped with a Passlock system to help prevent a thief from ever stealing your vehicle. It does this by shutting off the fuel line to the cylinders IF the wrong key is used or someone attempted to hotwire it. The reason the SECURITY message appears in the Message Center is because there is a problem with the Passlock system. Your vehicle is still drivable, however if a thief attempted to steal your car, it's almost guaranteed to get away with it. The best way to fix it is to check your fuses and circuit relays particularly one labeled CLSTR/BCM located in the fuse block on the driver's side; if that doesn't work, send it to service.
