Is The Central Electronic Unit (ecu) Worth Changing At 280 000 Miles?

It has turned out that not only did this truck have problems with the ABS but that the ECU has to be replaced. The part cost 1100 USD plus labor and with 280 000 miles on the truck I wonder if the investment is worth it. Particularly since the truck has just needed a lot of other repairs, among them leakage of both transmission and engine oil and reuiring new parts in both cases. I would be very grateful for an answer to this question asap. Thank you beforehand. VL
