How To Turn On Ets In 97 Cavalier

ETS stands for "Enhanced Traction System". That is, a system that limits wheel spin, which is detected by the same sensors that sense wheel lock-up for the Anti-Lock Brake (ABS) system. There would be an imbalance between the signals received from the 2 wheels, because one is smaller. This might make the computer think the smaller wheel is spinning, even though it's really not, and after a while, it might turn itself off because it realizes this is a false signal. Although I would think the ABS warning light might come on too. Are you sure that's not what the other light is? Did the ETS off light go out after the wheel was replaced? If so, I wouldn't worry about that.
For what it's worth, here's what your Owner's Manual says about the ETS off light;
If it stays on, or comes on when you’re driving, there may be a problem with your Enhanced Traction System and your vehicle may need service. When this warning light is on, the system will not limit wheel spin. Adjust your driving accordingly.
The Enhanced Traction System warning light may come on for the following reasons:
If you turn the system off by moving the shift lever to a position other than THIRD(3 ) or OVERDRIVE (O with a D inside) the warning light will come on and stay on. To turn the system back on, move the shift lever back to the THIRD or OVERDRIVE position again. The warning light should go off. (See “Enhanced Traction System” in the Index for more information.)
The warning light will come on when you set your parking brake with the engine running, and it will stay on if your parking brake doesn’t release fully. If the transaxle shift lever is in the THIRD or OVERDRIVE position and the warning light stays on after your parking brake is fully released, it means there’s a problem with the system.
If the Enhanced Traction System warning light comes on and stays on for an extended period of time when the transaxle shift lever is in the THIRD or OVERDRIVE position and the parking brake is fully released, your vehicle needs service.
