Where Can I Find The Meaning Of The Warning Light Icons?

97 chevy cavalier warning lights - what do the icons mean? At the bottom left of the display area is an icon that looks like a tea kettle or something. Where can I get a list of all the icons?

That is a low oil pressure warning light. Check your oil level right away. Remove the dipstick and see if the oil is at the correct level. If it is low, add enough to bring it up to the full line on the dipstick. The oil cap is on top of the engine. Remove the cap (turn the car off first) and add oil into that hole.

If the oil level is okay, then it could be a defective oil pressure sending unit. Not hard to replace. It just screws into place and has one wire atteched to it. Your local auto parts store should have one in stock.

The last possibility is that you have low oil pressure due to a failing oil pump. That is a serious problem and you will damage the engine if you run it for any length of time with a bad oil pump. If the engine is quiet right now, then it's probably just low on oil.
