Car Battery Randomly Dies.

I have a 96" Monte Carlo LS 3.1 engine. My issues is the Battery randomly dies. If it sits for a while it will "recharge." It starts fine in the morning or after sitting for a few hours. A little hesitent but starts. After driving around, say around town for 5 miles at the most and shutting it off, then when I go to restart the battery is dead. The engine cracks but there's not enough battery power to start it. After getting a "Jump start" if fires right up. Again, let it sit for a while and it starts fine. It's like the total opposite of why a battery would go dead. I am so confused. Battery is about 2 months old. Alternator was tested and is good. I'm so confused.
