Printer Still Not Working After Replacing Both Print Heads

My S-4500 printer was flashing 5 five time which I believe refers to fautly print head so I replaced both, but the printer still flashing the same error code. It seems to do a startup procedure but then just sits parked and continuely flashing the same error code. Any idea, its been a great printer and I would like to fix because it handles A3 paper etc. Thanks

Hello brianward,

Seems like you know your way around electonic devices. Most people I know would rather buy another printer than taking on the task to replace the printhead. But, as you stated, it is a good printer.

You are correct about the 5 flashes, as this does indicate a faulty printhead, which you have already replaced.

However, there is still a couple of things you can try, if not done so already. First, is to remove the printheads and check the contacts for any dirt or debris, then reseat. If it works great!

However, if you still get the flashing light, you can try the following:

1. Turn off printer
2. Hold down Resume button and press Power button.
3. Keep holding down Power button and let Resume button go.
4. Press Resume button 2 times then let BOTH buttons go.
5. Green lights will flash and then stop blinking.
6. When green lights are solid, press the Resume button 4 times.
7. Press the Power button and the printer should turn off, if not, press the Power button once more.
8. Your printer should respond as normal.

If none of these resolved your issue then i am sorry to have to say this, you may need to take the printer in to be serviced.
