Slow To Print
Suddenly REALLY slow, taking 2-3 min. before starting to print

Try changing your wireless router to use another channel. Once completed restart the MX870 to reconnect and see if that improves things. FTR I have never heard of a wireless printer being slow to start-up and has been suggested. They either work or don't. When you notice delays like you mention it indicates that the data integrity between the printer to the wireless router to the Mac are compromised. This can be caused by interference from other radio devices like phones. Therefore selecting another channel with the router can help to reduce the chance of interference.
