It Keeps Scanning.

We tried to scan a document but whatever we pushed the machine just keeps operating like its scanning.  Like its stuck in a loop or something.  How do we stop it?  We've tried unplugging it and we looked for a reset button but couldn't find it.

I had the same problem. I fixed it by doing the following although I don't know which item is the critical factor;

1. Scann a single page on only one side through the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF)

2. Scan a single page on only one side on the flatbed

It resolved my issue and now it works just as well as it always did. I theorize that the ADF is somehow telling the scanner that more pages are pending and so it skips feeding the phantom pages but keeps scanning them.
