Check Ink U163 Col? How Do I Fix?

The printer display an error message Check Ink U163 when you are replacing the ink cartridge with a refillable one or when your ink is running empty. Below are few solutions you can try depending on the model of the Canon printer you have.
> Press and hold down STOP/RESET button for more than 5 seconds until you see the message goes away.
> Press and hold the RESUME/CANCEL for more than 5 seconds until you see the message is gone.
> Press the button of RESUME/CANCEL once.
> Press the START button once and then press the black button for error message related to black cartridge or press color button if the error indicates.

Now after you got rid of the error, you must be able to print and you can ignore other messages because the printer can no longer detect your refillable ink cartridges. Please note that the ink level detection will not work if you are using a non original refillable ink. So, you have to deactivate this function.
