My Mp11dx Has A Low Continuous Beep When Left On After Use

I recently bought a MP11DX which has a low continuous beep when left on after each use until the cancel button is pressed. The continuous beep will be on again if left unused again. It will turn itself off after 15-20 minutes. Is there a way to stop it from beeping?

you could try pressing reset button after each use, alternatively the beeping could be a symptom of a power saving function
