Paper Jams With Duplex (2 Sided) Printing

I frequently get paper jams when attempting to duplex print. The problem seems to be that the paper feeds unevenly as it goes thru the rollers. I clean both the front and back paper handling rollers with a damp cloth. It works for a few copies and then reverts back to jamming. Is there a better way to clean the rollers other than water? ANy help appreciated.
