Battery Removal

There is a cross-support over the top of the battery, with some kind of ignition or accelerator relay attached to it. How the heck do I remove the darn battery?

This was a tough one to get any info on. The best solution I found was to remove the air filter compartment and slide the battery out the side. The air filter compartment should be easy to take out. Unhook the clips that hold the cover down and remove the filter. Then unbolt the bottom of the compartment from the inner fender (or whatever it is attached to). There should only be a few bolts holding the base of the compartment in place.

Once you to that, you should be able to see if you can slide the battery out that way. Just be sure to disconnect the negative battery cable first and move both cables out of the way to prevent damaging them.
