Turn Off Tone On Hc1850?

Can I manually turn off the tone that beeps when I turn the machine on or change stitches?

Turn off the sewing machine. Hold down the "–" side of adjustment key) and turn on the sewing machine. After turning on the sewing machine, release the "-" side of (stitch width adjustment key). The machine is now set so that it will not beep.
