Volume Wire
So I've had these installed on my bike for a roughly 2 years now and I never used the volume control and so all that extra wire was just there so I cut ioff the wire and the volume control box and taped it off, should that affect anything or should it still work as normal?

If you have cut off the wire and volume control box from your Boss Audio MC420B motorcycle speakers and taped it off, it may have some impact on the functionality of the speakers. The volume control box is designed to adjust the volume of the speakers conveniently, and by removing it, you will no longer have that control.
However, if you never used the volume control in the past and were satisfied with the default volume level, the speakers should still work as normal for playing audio. Removing the volume control box and tape off the wire should not have a significant impact on the basic functionality of the speakers.
