Bose Soundlink Connected But Sound Comes From Laptop

I had great difficulty connecting to my Bose Soundlink 2 speaker. However I managed eventually to get it to work but now although it says it is connected when I play music it plays from my laptop not my speaker. I have disconnected and uninstalled it reinstalled it and the same happens.
