Deleting Old Versions Of Aol

I upgraded from 9.6 to 9.7. My computer is old and I'm running low on space. Can I safely delete the 9.6 version without it affecting the 9.7? The 9.6 size is 2 GB and I thought this might be a good way to regain some space. Thank you for any information you may provide.
