Acer Aspire X1700 Freezes Up

Within the last week, my Acer X1700 freezes up with 20-30 minutes after startup.  All the time.  I checked the fan.  From what I see it is running.  I don't know how to tell if it is running like it should. Once it freezes up I can't turn off the computer.  I end up having to unplug the computer.  How do I know if it's the fan or is the fan working like it should. If not the fan how do I find out what the problems is?

Freezing of a computer indicates many other signs or symptoms of failure, both hardware and software. Your computer might have a virus infection running with your Operating System. There might also a problem with the Processor of your computer, the processor might have overheated. Remember that the CPU or processor has its own emergency factor and automatically shuts down or freezes up when this temperature reached. Goodluck.

you must cleanup the coolblok from the processor, demontage it and blow all the dust out of it, thats the problem i have it to so make it dust free and the cooling works good and the pc will work normaly again.   If not the processor or the motherbord is broken, mostly the motherboard but sometimes the duo quadcore can be broken.

Good luck

In order to fix computer freezing at startup, you must first boot up your CPU in safe mode. This is done by tapping F8 as soon as your start your system.

Once in safe mode you can attempt to fix the problem. If you don’t feel like going to the computer repair shop or buying a new system, the next best thing is to scan your computer with a registry repair program.

Computer freezing comes from errors within the Windows registry. I would recommend cleaning it up. You can perform a free scan at:
