"Technically" you can't according to Microsoft. Doing so will void your user agreement. Still, folks have created ways to do this, for example using the WinBuilder program.

In general in order to boot from USB you need to adjust the BIOS boot order to have the USB device show in the boot order list before the internal hard disk. Once thats done you should be able to boot from USB.
