Can Acer M1100 Cpu Be Upgraded

That system appears to be an early AM2 socket motherboard. Without BIOS updates that Acer isn't willing to provide, you're limited to dual core processors.
Unless you start replacing pretty much everything inside that computer (motherboard/cpu/power supply) the fastest cpu you can upgrade to with any likelihood of sucess is an Athlon 64 x2 5600+ (2.9 GHz)
