There is not a standard on this unit. The manual, on pages 21-22 list all of the options that can be added or deleted depending on selected models. Some have HD-DVD Drive or DVD Super Double Multi layer drive. The only way you can tell if you got ripped off is to compare what you got to any written information the salesperson or person gave you, telling you what the specs for the drive were suppose to be. If it was bought at a retail store, go to the store and check the information on the display card or ask a sales person to write down the information. This way, you have documentation as to what you were suppose to receive and have recourse to getting it corrected.
