What To Do When My Acer 5250-0468 Laptop Shuts Down Unexpectedly

It sounds like the power socket on the laptop is faulty and needs replacing or resoldering. To check this, power up the latop with the power adapter, wriggle the plug in the power socket and check if the battery charge indicator flicks on and off indicating charging and not charging. If it indicator flicks on and off then you have a faulty power socket. This can be repaired but required the laptop to be completely dismantled to access the power connector. Or you need to get a new acer power cord.

Plug it into the charger. It's probably because it ran out. Then turn it back on. If it keeps doing more often then the battery needs to be replaced.
