Open your Web browser and download HDD Unlock Wizard (see Resources). Save the file to your desktop.

Double-click the "hddunlock-setup.exe" file on your desktop and follow the on-screen instructions to install the software on your computer.

Double-click the desktop icon to launch HDD Unlock Wizard or select the program from the "Start" menu. The HDD Unlock Wizard window will appear.

Click "Next" and select from the list of connected drives the hard drive on which you wish to reset the password.

Click "Next." The program will analyze the selected hard drive to determine if it can successfully reset the password. Click "Next" and you will arrive at the "Unlock" screen.

Visit the HDD Unlock Web page again and purchase a Virtual Unlock Card. Once you make the purchase, HDD Unlock Wizard will email you a password so that you can access the full functions of the program. Note that prices vary depending on the size of the drive on which you wish to reset the password.

Retrieve the password from the email from HDD Unlock and enter it into the provided area in the "Unlock" screen. Click "Next" to unlock the drive and reset the password.

Double-click the "rssetup.exe" file on your desktop and follow the on-screen instructions to install the software on your computer.

Double-click the desktop icon to launch A-FF Repair Station or select the program from the "Start" menu. The A-FF Repair Station window will appear. Click the link near the bottom of the window to sign up to use the product. A Web page will appear.

Enter your name and email into the provided fields. Create a login name and password, and enter them into the provided fields. Place a check mark next to the "I accept" box and click "Submit." You will receive an email from A-FF Laboratory.

Enter your created login name and password into the A-FF Repair Station window, and click "Sign In." The program will analyze the connected drives.

Click the drive on which you wish to reset the password from the list of connected hard drives.

Access the email account that you used to create your login name and open the email from A-FF Laboratory. Click the link in the email to purchase and activate a license for A-FF Repair Station. Once you've purchased the license, A-FF Laboratory will email you a license key that you can use to unlock your hard drive and reset the password.

Click "Remove Password" in the A-FF Repair Station program.

Enter the license key from A-FF Laboratory into the "License key" field and click "Activate." The program will unlock the hard drive and reset the password.

Right-click the file folder and select "Extract." Follow the prompts and extract the file to your desktop. Double-click the extracted file folder to open it.

Double-click "DiskPasswordProtectionSetup.exe" and follow the on-screen prompts to install the program on your computer.

Double-click the desktop icon to launch the Disk Password Protection program or selecting the program from the "Start" menu. The Disk Password Protection window will appear and analyze the drives connected to your system.

Click on the connected drive on which you wish to reset the password. Click "Disable" in the top menu. Note that Disk Password Protection offers a 30-day free trial after which you must purchase a registration license.
