According to AT&T U-verse:
Any U-Verse TV screen displaying a red "X", Client Initialization error or Diagnostic Info means your system is having trouble communicating. To correct these errors:
- Unplug the TV's receiver
- wait 2 minutes
- plug it back in
- and then restart.
- If the error persists: Unplug your residential gateway (you may call it the router), wait 2 minutes, plug it back in and then restart.
- Note: This will temporarily disrupt Internet, TV, and Voice service.
- If you still can't watch TV, please contact us.
You will be calling 1-800-288-2020 to select Technical Support from the automated switchboard. Unlike other departments, Tech Support is available 24/7.
