How Do I Get Corroded D Battery's Out Of A Mag-lite?

The battery's corroded in the Alum. barrel of the flash light. I tried baking soda solution and hitting it with a rubber mallet.

Try pouring some Coke in there (it will disintegrate the rust and corrosion - yeah, we drink this stuff!) and letting it sit for an hour or two, then wash it out with soap and water. If that doesn't do it, try spraying in some WD-40 and jiggling it out with a screwdriver. Good luck!

Edit: Forgot to add that you should of course remove the lense cap and lightbulb/holder before doing this :)
