Great family vehicle, if you don't mind some repairs
Overall, I love this van. Seats are comfortable, plenty of interior space, drives great, lots of power for what it is and performs very well in snow & ice.I've driven a few other minivans and this one is by far my favorite. We frequently tow a utility trailer and this van handles it just fine. We get a respectable 17-19 mpg for city driving and 20-25 mpg crusing on the open freeway with cruise control. You'll probably do even better if you don't have a lead foot like I do.
Be prepared to spend some money on maintenance though. Common issues include:
fuel pump (if the fuel guage is erratic it means the fuel level sensor has failed and the fuel pump is next)
Head Gaskets
Tail lights: connectors short out, causeing problems when you use more than one light at a time such as turn signal and brake. This problem often coincides with failure of the traction control system
Electrical: We've had trouble with the automatic sliding door (twice), several minor electrical issues such as the speedometer light is burned out and requires a custom $150 bulb cluster to fix it.

2000 Olds. Silhouette shifts haed.
I just had the Chevy dealer do a complete flush and filter when the transmission started to shift with a bang when it got to operating temp.Less than 600 miles later the trans. started the rough shifting at higher RPMs as the engine came up to operating temp.
I addad a bottle of Lucas Trans Fix and the problem stopped immediatly.
I know that this is just a temporary fix so what do I do when the shifting issue returnes?
