Extended Monitors

I have been trying to get dual extended monitors connected to my emachine EL1352-51. As there is only 1 VGA port for the onboard graphics card and no other possible ports for a monitor to plug into, I tried to add a simple second graphics card. However, it seems that only one graphic card can be active. I can either have the onboard graphics card working, or the new additional graphics card, not both. This somewhat defeats the purpose of purchasing and installing the new graphics card, as I still can only use 1 monitor.

If you are limited to one graphics card, you can purchase a splitter that will allow you to connect two displays through that one card. Newegg sells a bunch -- as do many other vendors -- with many options, including VGA and HDMI. You can look through them here:
