Do you have an excess amount of one type of decoration (i.e. thousands of hay bales as seen in the hay bale art craze OR tons and tons of fences)? If so, it'll be very difficult for Farmville to load your farm due to the memory required. If this is the case...something that MIGHT help, and did help when I was experiencing the same problem, is deleting a couple neighbors. This may free up enough memory to open your farm and then you can proceed to delete hay bales or fences or whatever the culprit decoration may be :)

If you don't have a lot of the same decoration on your farm, try to change your browser. I used to use Internet Explorer until one day it stopped opening up my Farmville. I had to download Firefox and it's worked well ever since. You can also try accessing your farm through www.farmville.com instead of through the Facebook site.
