Whirpool Dryer Model # Wed6200sw0 Troubleshooting

Without any notice, my dryer stopped working. The display board lights up, however, it will not start. Will a bad thermistor prevent the dryer from working/ turning on? We tried ohm the thermal fuse and it has continuity but the thermistor does not have continuity/ no resistance? I just want to make sure before I spend the money on parts for this dryer. Thank you in advance.
