Westinghouse 37' Full Hd 1080 Hdmi Tv Made A Loud Pop Sound And Shout Off And It
My boyfriend's Westinghouse 37" FULL HD 1080 HDMI TV made a loud pop sound and shout off and it won't turn back on. He thinks I broke it cause I was I was watching TV with the cat when it made the loud pooping sound and went off. I'm sure his mom thinks I broke it too. We don' know what is wrong with it. I called Geek Squad and they said they charge $150 of my credit card first to have someone check it to tell me what is wrong with it how much it will cost to fix it. Do you know what might have happened? Like did a fuse blow out or a power source...I don't know what to do! Please help!

A loud pop noise denotes a blown capisitor. I would advise taking it down and removing the back cover carefully. Do a youtube search for disassemble of the make and model. There will be a tan board underneath with several black cylinder objects, the tops will be silver. See if any of them are bulged or have a black crusty residue on the tops. If they do buy a soldering gun and order the required capisitors on ebay. Cost to repair less than $25. Amount of time researching and repairing if you are new to electronic repair is 4 hours.
