Does The Mifi Device Have To Be A Virg Mob Brand Bought From Them To Open Accoun

Yes.  Every CDMA cellular device(this includes wifi and cell phones) has either an ESN or MEID.  If you tried to activate a device not sold by Virgin Mobile it would NOT work.  Their system can tell from the ESN(or MEID) what the device is and if its their product or not.
