Rtc & Backup Battery Pack?

Hi,I have an old laptop (Toshiba Satellite 2540CDS) with an RTC and a so-called Backup Battery (BB).I think the RTC is made up of two pieces (in a row or connected in parallel - I have not picked up the green insulating packaging from it to find it) of rechargable batteries.BB is the same, I think, just six rechargable batteries.On one side of the packaging of the RTC battery there is a number: 029, and on the other side a long number, which is probably the particular Part number.BB also has a Part number, but on the other side:Varta7.2V 40mAh Ni-MH6 / V 40 H TB 039The voltage measured on the RTC element is 0.20V,the voltage measured on the BB element is 0.04V.I think both RTC and BB are discharged.My laptop doesn't start; at first it was just enough to go into the BIOS, and then I quit and the machine started; now it doesn't help, it can't find the hard drive, so it doesn't start.So are there any such battery to buy or can I make these items myself?

If you are outside the UK then do a similar search in your own country and you will find what you need.

On older laptop the RTC was an IC. It would require the backup battery to maintain the clock and bios settings. There will be a hard drive maximum size on these laptops. For guide books and manuals you need the part number rather than the model number and search at https://www.manualslib.com
